What DFW Mold Testing Does and Does Not Do
DFW Mold Testing inspects and samples homes and buildings for mold in Allen and the towns around it, and that is the whole of the job. We are an assessment only company: we look for moisture and growth, take the air and surface samples the sampling plan calls for, send them to an accredited lab, and write up what came back. Nobody on our side carries a scraper, a sprayer or a roll of containment plastic.
What we do not do is the remediation. Independent testing companies perform only inspection, testing and assessment and never perform the removal, and that is what keeps the findings objective. A clean result costs us nothing and a dirty one earns us nothing past the test, so the report says what the samples say and nothing more.
That line runs through every service on this site. Air sampling in a bedroom, a tape lift off a bathroom ceiling, a clearance test after someone else's cleanup and a check of the ducts are all testing. None of them ends with us tearing out drywall, and none of them comes with a removal quote attached. If a test finds nothing, the report says so, and the visit is over.

Texas Licenses Assessment Apart From Remediation
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation licenses mold assessment technicians and consultants, and it requires the assessor and the remediator to be separate. In Texas one company is legally prohibited from both assessing and remediating mold, and the two sides of the work hold separate TDLR licenses.
That separation is not a policy we chose so much as the line the state drew, and we sit on the assessment side of it. The company that takes the samples in your home is by law not the company paid to clean it, so no mold testing visit of ours can turn into a removal job.

An Accredited Third-Party Laboratory Reads Every Sample
Every sample we take goes to an accredited third-party laboratory. Nothing is read in-house: no one at DFW Mold Testing puts a cassette under a microscope and decides what it holds, and no report of ours rests on our own count.
That matters for two reasons. The first is that a lab analyst who has never seen your house has no stake in the answer. The second is that the results are legally defensible because the samples are processed only through independent, accredited laboratories, which is what a buyer, a landlord, an insurer or a remediator will want to see behind any mold testing report.
What comes back from the lab is a count and an identification for each sample. The report we write sits on that data, and we go through it with you by phone so the numbers mean something before anyone acts on them.

The Inspection Decides Where the Samples Go

What Owners Ask an Assessment-Only Company
Do you refer a remediation company?
No. We keep a strict no-referral policy and do not refer clients to paid remediation partners, so there is no company waiting on the other end of our mold testing report. You choose the remediator, and the report goes with you to whoever you pick.
The EPA gives the same advice: use a company different from the one that performed the test to handle any necessary remediation. A referral fee would put a thumb on that scale, and we do not take one.
What does the report leave to the remediator?
The report hands the remediator a written protocol and the sample data, and everything after that is theirs. The assessment comes first so the protocol can be written, and the removal, its methods and its guarantee stay with the company you hire to do the work.
We never perform the remediation, so nothing in our mold testing report is a promise about how the cleanup will go. Once it is done, post-remediation verification confirms whether it worked.
